Zomtober 2019 Week 4

A slow week but some progress has been made. In October 2018 fellow Blogger Hobgoblinry published a rather nice photo of some 54mm Russian Fantasy Figures. (see below)

Scale wise they looked just right as ogres for Mordheim, complete with the right weapon options too and considerably cheaper than trying to afford a GW Mordheim Ogre from E-Bay. The figures arrived quickly and were duly snaffled by Grandson number one who broke the  club off the one I was after.
Being a kindly old man I `volunteered' to repair the figure and he duly forgot all about it .... my conscience is clear (ish)!

No where as good as Hobgoblinry I present this weeks effort

Four days left and only one figure left to do a Mantic armoured troll, another tenuous zombie link but with human coloured skin he'll pass as a zombie hunting medieval survivor.

Zomtober 2019 Week 3

My humble efforts for this week ..

Four plastic Studio Miniatures Zombies, including a UPS delivery man, hence the all brown ensemble .. they need more work ....

For of Mantic Games' Walking Dead zombies, wonderful sculpts and a joy to paint.

Two survivors bothe from Hasslefree Miniatures

A studio Miniatures walking dead zombie from the first episode  of the TV series

And as a palette cleanser a dwarf for my Mordheim warband, because he's a survivor and hunts zombies. I've called him Zabadak after a fellow blogger, I've never met him but the name just suited the figure. No offence intended!!!

Zomtober 2019 Week 2

The first offering this week is a zombie figure that I received from Studio Miniatures for buying two boxes of their plastic zombies a few years ago. I have to say it is the worst zombie figure I have ever painted, I'm not sure if it was supposed to have it's skin sliding off or whether they are clothes, the detail is awful. Anyway done now ....

The first of my Mantic Ghouls which I'm using as a zombie had a base layer of Necrotic Flesh and clothes painted Army Painter zombie brown all washed with  washed with dark tone.  Army Painter Gun Metal on the cleaver.

The second Ghoul has Army painter skeleton bone skin and Citadel Mechrite red clothes. I need to add a highlight to these and some deeper shadows having seen the photos up close.

Zomtober 2019 Week 1

Well this weeks effort is a Dungeon Saga Zombie Troll from Mantic Games. The figure was cleaned of any mould lines, or flash then it was base-coated in Vallejo grey surface primer. The first colour was Army Painter Desert Yellow over everything followed by a wash of Army painter strong tone to pick out the details. Highlights were added by mixing Desert yellow with Skeleton Bone and dry-brushing the model in several lighter shades.
The open sores were picked out with Army painter Crusted Sore and once dry the wounds had Citadel  Blood for the Blood God added.
The rock was painted with Foundry Arctic Grey triad.
The loin cloth was Army Painter crystal blue with a black wash and a grey drybrush as it looked too clean and bright.
